hello all While fishing the pier Sat 12th Dec happened to mention that i always find Whiting very bland when cooked,new member wings(steve) recommends some chilli and a slice of lemon ,sounds good will give it a try next time, Any one else got a recommendation??

sounds good andy ...a lot of people make fishcakes with whiting...not a fish eater myself...or even a curry ..will look up some recipies and post up.....

think unless they pretty big fish ...they too boney...am not keen... pollock or cod for me. ;D.......yet to try any flat fish...due to never catching any decent sized ones... ;D,,,,,but once h..and bev....and some of you guys show me the ropes next year am sure i,ll get that chance. ;D tojo

have to admit the plaice is one of my top three eating fish after the cod and bass...however ive been throwing dabs back for a few years now until i tried one this summer....they are really nice up there with the plaice almost .Gaz.

Just cooking last nights Whitting. Scored the fish and rubbed in some grated ginger and grated sweet pepper ,sprinkle of crushed dried chillies in the cavity on a baking tray with a knob of butter. Will let you know how they taste. Steve
